Iraqis massively heed the Jihad on Terror Fatwa by volunteering to join military service
Masses of Iraqi volunteers continue to pour into army registration centers across the war-torn nation following a ‘Jihad on terror’ decree issued by the country’s top Shia scholar Grand Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Sistani.
According to an Al-Alam report on Sunday, the number of Iraqi volunteers for the anti-terror fight has now reached levels that surpass the required numbers by over 10 folds.
The report further cites Iraq’s national security advisor Faleh al-Fayyaz as saying that Iraqi Prime Minister Nour al-Maliki has ordered the establishment of a bureau to organize the masses of new volunteers.
Al-Fayyaz also underlined that the process of organizing the volunteers and providing for their expenses and weaponry have already begun.
Last Friday, Ayatollah Sistani issued a Fatwa (obligatory religious decree) urging all those that can carry weapons and fight against the terrorists, to volunteer to join the nation’s security forces.
