Army Kills 13 al-Nusra Members in Syrian Capital

Damascus, May 23 (Prensa Latina) Syrian Arab Army forces today killed at least 13 al-Nusra Front members, an armed group affiliated to Al Qaeda terrorist network, in Barzeh district and its surrounding farms, in the outskirts of this capital. According to the state television, Sapper team members deactivated four explosive devices with 30-50 kilograms detonated from a distance, planted by extremists in the south-eastern of Tishreen hospital, in the same area. Also Thursday, a clandestine bomb-making site was seized in Waer gardens, in the central Homs province, as well as a missile launching pad and three field hospitals with large quantities of medicines stolen from health centers. As part of the fierce offensive kept by the army in the central territory, chiefly in Qseir, the troops seized seven vehicles loaded with arms and killed 20 mercenaries in Dahr al-Kadeb, and the south of the city´s municipal stadium. Other localities in Homs, such as Dabba, Rastan, Alghannto, Talbiseh, Beit Hajjo, Tel al-Ghar, Kiseen, Akrab, and Ameria, and neighborhoods in the capital like Bab Hood, Khalidiya, Warsha, and Hamidieh were also stage of fierce combats, where an undetermine number of insurgents were killed. sgl/ajs/jf/lr
