"We condemn violation of the rights of the oppressed Palestinian nation by the Zionist regime in different ways, including expansion of illegal constructions in the occupied territories which stands in clear violation of all international laws," Iran's Deputy Permanent Representative to the Geneva-based UN Headquarters Abbas Baqerpour said, addressing a UN meeting on Monday.
Baqerpour also called on UN to launch a serious probe into mistreatment of the Palestinian detainees in Israeli jails condemning the large-scale arrests of Palestinians without concrete proofs.
In similar remarks earlier this month, Senior Official of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP) Qais Abdulkarim condemned the Zionist regime for its attempts to legitimize its illegal settlements on Palestinian lands, and stressed that the Palestinian nation will never give up its legitimate rights.
"The occupying regime's decision to legitimize four settlements and the measures taken by the occupiers is a firm reason showing their expansionist and colonial goals and their efforts to render useless every possible solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict," Abdulkarim told FNA.
An Iranian lawmaker earlier this month lashed out at Israel for increasing its efforts to Judaize the Holy Quds (Jerusalem).
"Tel Aviv has increased its Judaization efforts of the Holy Quds and other Islamic sites in the occupied territories," Mojtaba Rahmandoust said.
Earlier this month, the police arrested dozens of Palestinian youth after the Israeli settlers entered the mosque and started acting in a provocative way.
Israel has long been pursuing a Judaization plot to change the identity of the region. Ever since the 1967 Six-Day War, Israel has been increasingly exercising its Judaization scenario all across the occupied lands in Palestine and the Golan Heights (in Syria).
Last year, Israel's inner cabinet decided to speed up construction of homes for Jews in Arab East Quds (Jerusalem) and in other nearby settlements to punish the Palestinians for winning membership in the UN cultural agency, UNESCO.
Since then, Israel has issued announcements for the construction of 2,057 new homes in Arab East Quds and 1,241 in the West Bank, official figures show.
At least 200,000 Israelis live in a dozen settlement neighborhoods in East Quds (Jerusalem), which was captured by Israel in 1967 and annexed in an aggressive move never recognized internationally.
