Syrian rebel leaders Wednesday conceded the loss of the strategic town of al-Qusayr after a combined Hizballah-government force completed its capture. Tehran issued a message congratulating the Syrian army on its important victory. DEBKAfile: Rebel forces still holding onto locations in central and northern Syria are now cut off from their Lebanese sources of supply, while Hizballah forces and weapons have won a free gateway from Syria to Lebanon. Combined Syrian-Hizballah forces are gaining against rebel forces on additional key battlefronts fronts including Damascus and Aleppo.
