The ever shifting frontline in Syria has made its way to this remote area north of the capital Damascus.

Like Adra, other districts of the capital have also come under assault.

But it’s the army that in the end has had the upper hand in many locations, like the 28 regiment of the Syrian Arab Army.

Behind me to the left is the 28th regiment of the Syrian army many news outlets are saying it is under insurgents control but right now we are in this advanced point with the Syrian army and you can see that the regiment is under the control of the Syrian army and we are heading there right now.

This base has received a lot of attention in recent days. In this youtube footage militants show repeated attacks on the regiment and even claim victory. They claim the regiment is a chemical warfare unit. So if this unit were to fall some Western governments could claim Damascus cannot protect its strategic weapons.

It was only after three months that reinforcements arrived and things started to change in favor of the military.

Infantry units are advancing behind this wall and the machine gun behind me is providing fire coverage for them as they advance more into insurgents areas.

This clearly means Syrian forces have made advances in some areas during operations against foreign-backed Takfiri militants. They have also managed to inflict heavy losses, regaining control of many neighborhoods after heavy fighting with the militants. Most of the militants in these areas were killed and their positions and equipment destroyed.

We are at the wall of the twenty eighth regiment of the Syrian army, this unit moved from being under siege from the insurgents into becoming an advanced point for the Syria army used to mount attacks against insurgents who are on the other side of this wall in their few remaining posts that they control in Damascus countryside.

These soldiers might have withstood the repeated attacks on them but now they have to move to the offensive to end insurgents presence in Damascus countryside.

Everything is subject to change in Syria , the defender becomes the attacker and victor becomes defeated in a matter of days, it remains to be seen who will achieve a permanent victory in the war that changed the face of Syria.
