On December 12 1972 Marie-Hélène Rothschild threw a lavish illuminati ball at the Ferriéres. Social elites from every walk of lifereceived a invitation written backwards that had to be deciphered by holding it to a mirror.
The ball was such a big deal that one social figure threatened to commit suicide unless she was invited.
