Genocide in Iraq result of American policy: Analyst
The current situation in Iraq is the result of the UnitedStates’ desire to impose hegemony on the country, an American political commentator says.
“The situation and developments in Iraq were absolutely predictable and are the results of the United States and Western hegemony in Iraq, their desire to impose the Western hegemony in Iraq, and to carry out this blueprint that’s widely available in public and can see, it’s called the peanut project for the new American century,” said Rodney Martin, who is the director of the World View Foundations, a website, and a host at the American Nationalist Network, an internet radio station.
“The human cost, which seems that never be a factor to these Zionist neo-cons, and we are seeing that on the ground in Iraq,” he told Press TV in a phone interview on Monday.
Al-Qaeda-linked militants have taken control of some key northern Iraqi cities including Mosul, the country’s second-largest city, and Tikrit, the birthplace of former Baathist dictator Saddam Hussein.
The militants, who have posted pictures of their atrocious acts against Iraqi citizens online, have vowed to continue their offensive towards the capital Baghdad.
Martin, who also served for a time on the staff of a US congressman assigned to Military and Veteran Issues, stated that Republican Sen. Lindsey Graham is “trying to create hysteria among the American population who has grown weary of wars” and is trying “to drum up support for bombing and military intervention in Syria and Iraq by saying that there’s probably going to be another 9/11 unless we do this.”
“Well, you know, 9/11, terrorism, Soviet communist, these are all buzzwords that neo-cons and their Zionist supporters use to try to shape US policy in a certain direction, and it has had horrific consequences,” he noted.
Martin went on to say that “the United States needs to take a step back and pause and reflect on these disastrous consequences.”
Elsewhere in his remarks, he said that “the positive side is that this [Iraq situation] has created a possibility for a direct dialogue with Iran, which needs to happen.”
“This talk of a military action by the United States, which has been pushed by the Zionist extremists to get the United States to engage in some sort of a military strike against Iran that needs to stop because now we see that Iran is in the position of offering assistance to stop this genocide in Iraq, which is a result of American policy,” he emphasized.
“I hope that there’s a direct dialogue between Iran and the United States, and that will demonstrate, once and for all, to the American public that these Zionist policies and these Zionist policymakers have been completely discredited,” Martin concluded.
