Mr. Ban Ki-moon: Stop genocide in Gaza

[ Editor's note: While we have seen growing protests worldwide over the current Gazan slaughter by The New Evil Empire, there is something that is missing in the punch we need to turn things around on the Zionist threat.
We need much more visible opposition from large public groups and entities who are already organized and funded and can quickly have a much greater pushback impact, if they wanted to.
They are keeping their heads down. Even the Pope has been competing with Ban ki-Moon as to who can make the most ineffective and ignored statements, and with no embarrassment either, it seems. They continue to use tactics with a 100% failure record. This is not leadership. It is pretend-a-leadership, despite all the pomp and ceremony.
The main religious groups in the US had a perfect opportunity to renew their relevance by going public in a big way on the Gaza slaughter. They hurt us badly through their failure. When such organizations are not seen at the front of the moral resistance, that sends a horrible message to the rank and file people... that things are not that bad and that it is really not any of our business.
But I cannot let their parishioners off the hook lightly. The boards of such groups are rarely populated with rock the boat activists and man the ramparts people. The same goes for the military officer corps. Many prefer being sheepherders and prefer the quiet life. If the rank and file members don't push their org leaders to get into the fight, then they carry responsibility for that failure.
I mention this because if organizations where people have put a lot of time into, have funded for years, where they know and are known by lots of people, if folks cannot get these orgs into the fight, then what can we expect them to do with people outside of that group?
So what I am suggesting is that a two-front attack is needed... on the political system, and also the organizations that we belong to, to convince them that we can't put the limited resources we have into them if they are going to sit on the sideline during the most important events of our time. What would be the point of being in such an org... escapism? ... Jim W. Dean ]

In a sternly-worded statement, the University of Tehran blasts the genocide going on in Gaza by the Zionist regime and urges UN chief Ban Ki-moon to put an end to it.
Following is the text of the statement:
It has now been nearly four weeks that the small blockaded and helpless land of Gaza is being destroyed through the vicious and inhumane forces of an occupying regime.
This devastating attack from the air, from the sea by naval ships relentlessly firing bombs and rockets, and from land by artillery and armored vehicles, has resulted in an enormous number of innocent men, women, and especially children, being critically wounded and killed.
Mr. Ban Ki-moon, due to your important responsibility, you are held accountable to end these events.
Do you not see the obvious violation of international conventions and treaties?
Do you not see this wild and barbaric attack as a clear example of genocide?
Do you not believe that the long lasting blockade of a nation under such harsh conditions is an inhumane act?
Do you not believe that issuing useless or inadequate Security Council statements along with your biased remarks enable the prolonging of this crime?
You must bear responsibility for the position that you occupy. Nations find your actions to be unacceptable. It is essential that this genocide be stopped in any way possible and the captive Palestinian nation be returned its principal rights.
We expect action.
We demand action.
What, sir, are you prepared to do?Academics, personnel, and students at the University of Tehran
