What is Their Goal?
According to the New World Institute website:
“The development of all the science, systems, tools, technologies, methods and knowledge needed to build self – sustaining and prosperous human communities beyond the Earth – even as we apply those tools and knowledge to save the Earth.” New World Institute
Furthermore their sister company EarthLight Foundation listed this as a goal:
“…But our core goal, the one goal we stand for and will not deviate from, is the expansion of life and humanity permanently into space.”
Is the Government Involved?
According to their Space Development Matrix page the government has that option:
“The Space Development Matrix is an environment created to support, enable and co-ordinate a community of researchers, developers and builders, including university or government teams, private firms and other groups or individuals from around the world. The purpose of the matrix is to facilitate the work needed to clear a critical path through the various technology and engineering hurdles on the way to space development and settlement.”
Furthermore the Pioneering Space Summit that is being held Feb. 19-20 at the Ronald Reagan Building in Washington, DC, will include government officials who will be attending this “invitation only” event:
“The Pioneering Space Summit will be the first ever, invitation-only, VIP workshop of national level decision makers. Commercial space executives, government officials, non-profit directors, and thought leaders from all corners of the space community will come together with the explicit goal of forging a basic agreement as to the most important goals of our national human spaceflight agenda. We will also identify and quantify the supporting knowledge gaps needed to achieve those goals.
