Syria Accuses al-Nusra Front of Killing 60 Civilians

Damascus, Jun 13 (Prensa Latina) Syria accused the al-Nusra Front, linked to Al Qaeda, of massacring 60 civilians in Hatla town, in the eastern province of Deir Ezzor, an action that adds up to numerous crimes carried out by that organization. SANA news agency quotes an official source that denounced the massacre of innocent citizens, including women and children, for refusing to cooperate with terrorists in their plans to overthrow the government. After the massacre, the members of al-Nusra sacked houses and premises in the town apart from sabotaging and desecrating temples, noted the source. Some footage displayed on the internet showed the so-called rebels celebrating the massacre in Hatla, a Shiite town, an action that proves the even more sectarian character the armed conflict acquires. A footage shows a group of armed men shouting Alla Akbar (God is great), a column of smoke can be seen coming out from some buildings and others fly the al-Nusra black flags. Al-Nusra Front, created in January 2012, has claimed the bloodiest dynamite attacks in Syria, mainly those in Damascus and Aleppo.
